OPPORTUNITY
Hey Operators! 👋
Ever walk into a local business and try to sell them something?
It's a wonderful experience.
Especially that magical moment when the owner's facial expression changes from "Welcome!" to "Oh God, another marketing guy."

We've all been there.
But here's something interesting about owning a local newsletter.
You have a legitimate reason to walk through almost any business's front door.
Not to pitch them.
Not to demonstrate your revolutionary AI-powered, blockchain-enabled customer acquisition funnel.
(Whatever the hell that is.)
But to tell their story.
Think about the difference between these two introductions:
❌ "Hi, I'd love to talk about your marketing."
✅ "Hi, we publish a ‘Pottstown Local Scoop that reaches 17K locals in their inbox everyday and would love to feature your business."
Same person.
Same business.
Completely different conversation.
Suddenly, you're not another salesperson trying to take something.
You're a publisher who might have something valuable to offer.
And those conversations can lead to relationships, partnerships, sponsorships, and opportunities you never anticipated.
Of course, that only works when your interest in the business is genuine. Nobody likes an interview that's secretly a 45-minute sales pitch.
Here's your assignment: Find one interesting local business this week. Introduce yourself, ask about their story, and see whether there's something worth sharing with your readers.
No pitch deck required.
Just curiosity and a conversation.
The takeaway? Your newsletter isn't just something you publish. It's something that can open doors.
