Hey Operators! 👋
Remember when you decided to start a local newsletter?
You had visions of recurring revenue.
Flexible schedules.
Working from a beach.
Maybe even wearing one of those ridiculous linen shirts that only successful internet entrepreneurs seem to own.
Fast-forward three months.
You're sitting at your kitchen table at 11:47 PM.
Seventeen browser tabs open.
Three event calendars.
Two Facebook groups.
And a municipal meeting agenda from 1987. 🤣
Congratulations. You've built yourself a job.

And apparently, your new boss is an absolute lunatic.
Here's the thing.
A local newsletter can become a valuable business asset.
But only if you build systems that allow it to operate without consuming every waking minute.
Start simple.
1. Create a content collection system. Keep your trusted local sources, event calendars, and story submissions organized in one place.
2. Use a repeatable template. Stop designing every issue like it's the cover of Vogue.
3. Let AI help with repetitive work. Draft summaries, organize information, and brainstorm headlines. Just verify the facts before publishing.
Because AI occasionally makes things up.
Which is adorable when it's suggesting dinner recipes.
Slightly less adorable when it's announcing that your mayor has been replaced by a golden retriever.
The takeaway? Your goal isn't to become the world's busiest newsletter publisher.
It's to build a publishing system that gives you more time to grow the business.
Here's your assignment:
Identify the single most time-consuming part of producing your newsletter.
Then find one way to simplify it this week.
Future you will thank you.

P.S. If your newsletter requires 47 browser tabs, three energy drinks, and a small emotional-support animal to publish...we should probably talk.
